The Owner of Carpenter Ministries and the one who ultimately runs the Carpenter's Shop is known by many names and titles. He is called The Word, The Rock of Ages, Savior, Redeemer, Master, Teacher, Creator, and many more. But many in the world know Him best as Jesus.

When Jesus walked this earth two thousand years ago, he returned from his Bar Mitzvah in Jerusalem and took on the trade of His step-father Joseph. For the next 18 years, Jesus worked as a carpenter. In those days, carpenters included workers in stone as well as workers of wood. Jesus certainly knew plenty about both seeing as He was the One who created them.

It is hard to fathom that the One who would one day die on a tree was the very one who formed them. If Jesus, who was also known as the Word before He took on human form, knew what the future held, why did this Master Creator bring the tree into existence?

The Bible tells us, "God demonstrated his loved toward us, in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us." What motivated Him to create His own destiny? LOVE!!! Jesus looked beyond the cross and saw individuals throughout the ages who would believe in Him. He saw those in humanity who would allow Him to fashion and form their lives, making them into a new creation.

We are told that when Jesus rose from the dead, He became the firstborn among many brethren. The anticipation of God's family tree caused the Master Carpenter to create Calvary's tree. The Master Carpenter will make a new creation of each life that will come to Him. He is still an expert at carpentry, whether it is chiseling a stony heart or reforming the wood of humanity. His skilled hands still reach out and touch lives today.
